Here are a few things to keep in mind when preparing for a photo session...

1. Makeup... depending on the kinds of looks you want, bring makeup. Makeup will wear down during the session and we may want to try a couple of different looks... from casual to glamour... Whether you are young or older, wearing makeup for photography is different just as being on stage, it needs to be a little heavier.

If you are interested in having a Makeup Artist in attendance for your photo shoot that can also be arranged. I have contact with several MUA's in the area. There is an additional cost, and it does depend on the particular MUA. I add no additional fee to the MUA fee, that is worked out with the individual MUA. Write me for more detail. Two local Makeup Artists that I work with regularly are Jessica Jean and Makeup by Jodie.

2. Physical... Don't stay up late the nite before the session, if you are tired it will show! Get a good nite's sleep. Don’t sun tan the nite before. Sun tanning can leave red bloches on your skin. If you are coming in the day before a competition, be sure your spray tan is EVEN! For fitness sessions, wear loose fitting clothing so there are no elastic marks showing. You want to look your best, just like on stage!

3. Clothes... I do not provide clothing. You really should bring your own clothing. We can always say no to a outfit, but we can't if you don't bring it. Bringing various tops is important for the head shots. If you are interested in swimwear images bring your own swimwear. And if you are a competitor bring your competition outfits. Bring props such as weights and other gym work out devices. Bring gym clothes too!

4. Timing... Typically a photo session will require 2-3 hours of your time in addition to traveling to the location... Using a makeup artist will add an hour or so to the time of the session … So plan your day accordingly...

5. Companions If you are under 18, your Mom or Dad MUST be with you for the whole session - NO EXCEPTIONS. If you are older, you are encouraged to have a friend come with you for the session. Many subjects do come alone, and you are very safe. But if we have never met, I highly encourage you not to come alone. Safety is always important to me and so is your comfort level.

6. Images... All my work is done digitally. Depending on the arrangements made you will receive a disc of images within a couple of weeks after the session. Sometimes you may actually leave with images the day of the session! Depending on your needs, I can also edit and prints images for you. This is something we can discuss at the actual photo session depending on your needs and desired end results.
